How to turn on TV subtitles
Before continuing, we remind you that the subtitles are always provided by the station to which we are tuned at that moment: the most famous channels provide subtitles for practically any program; The smaller channels or the local channels will hardly offer subtitles in the broadcast, even activating the options of the following chapters. The methods we will show you should also be effective within smart apps (the conditional is a must): If we want to activate subtitles on Netflix or Amazon Prime Video, we only read the following lines carefully, so that we can activate this interesting function when we decide to watch movies in a foreign language.
Enable subtitles on LG
If we have an LG television or an LG Smart TV, we can activate the subtitles by pressing the button SUB / SUBTITLE on the remote control and selecting the item Activate (in case of generic language) or Italian (if Italian language is available).
Alternatively, we can activate the subtitles on LG by pressing the gear-shaped button (on the remote control, selecting the item All settingslet's go to the menu Subtitles O Accessibility (based on the model in use) and finally press Enable subtitles O Subtitles, to activate the functionality.
Enable subtitles on Samsung
If we have a TV or Smart TV of the Samsung brand, we can activate the subtitles by pressing the button debajo on the remote control and in the new screen that will appear, be sure to set the item Subtitles su En or on Italian.
If this method doesn't work, we can enable the subtitles by pressing the button Menu on the remote control by selecting the menu configurations and finally take us to the menu Subtitles, in order to activate the overlapping writings.
Enable subtitles in Philips
In Philips televisions we can find both the proprietary operating system and Android TV, but in both cases it is really very easy to activate the subtitles. The first method to enable subtitles is to press the button. SUBTITLE on the remote control and, in the window that opens, activate the subtitles in Italian or in the desired language (if we are abroad).
Alternatively, we can get subtitles by pressing the Menu button, selecting configurations, opening the entrance preferences and activating subtitles in the menu Accessibility and subtitles. On some older Philips TVs with English menus, subtitles can be activated on the way Functions -> Subtitle Settings -> Closed Captions.
Enable subtitles on Sony
As in Philips televisions, even in Sony Bravia we can find both the proprietary operating system and the new Android TV. To activate the subtitles we immediately try the button SUBTITLE (CC) on the remote control, so you can quickly access the menu where you can turn on the subtitles for the currently broadcast program.
If the first method doesn't work, we can get the subtitles by pressing the button Home on the remote control, by pressing in the menu configurations and activating the subtitles of the route Channel Settings> Digital Settings> Subtitles Settings.
Another effective method of activating subtitles on Sony TVs can be exploited by taking us down the road Watch TV -> Channels -> Channel Settings -> Digital Settings -> Subtitles Settings and activating the voice Difficulty hearing.
Enable subtitles on Panasonic
If you have a Panasonic TV, you can activate closed captioning by pressing the button. SUBTITLE / STTL on the remote control and activating the setting that best suits the language on the screen.
If the method seen above does not work, we can always activate the subtitles by pressing the button Menu remote control, pressing voice configurations and leading us down the road Language> Preferred subtitles, among which you can choose the language to activate from those available in the broadcast.
